Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is a proven, age-old method of relieving mild to severe tension in the tissues of the body. Over time, the accumulation of daily stress (both physical and mental) creates disease in the body and ultimately leads to injury and chronic pain if left unreleased. Through the process of knowledgeable touch, our therapists are able to restore resilience to muscles, tendons, and connective tissue; healing old injuries and preventing new ones from arising.  Massage is also a great way to feel good and relax with proven effects on balancing mental states, providing clarity, and letting go of unneeded stress.

Our massage therapists use a variety of massage techniques. The two classifications of the massage we use are Deep Tissue and Relaxation:

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue massage is generally used to help the body recover from injury. This often involves the therapist working on deeper levels of muscle, releasing scar tissue, improving circulation, and healing the source of pain at the root. Clients generally describe this style of massage as a "good hurt" where the benefits of greater flexibility, decreased pain and improved circulation can be immediately after your visit. If your insurance covers massage by a licensed massage therapist, you will need a massage prescription from your doctor. Just ask us and we'll check for you!

Relaxation

Relaxation massage seeks to first calm the mind and then restore the body to a state of natural relaxation. Gentle, smooth strokes and light manipulations of muscle soothe tight muscles and leave you feeling recharged. A relaxation massage is great for those who have had a hard working week or feel like treating themselves to some TLC! You will be pampered with peaceful music and hot towels, a pain-free way to relax both your muscles and your mind.

What to Expect

On your initial visit, your therapist will spend a few minutes discussing the goals of treatment and explain how massage therapy can be of benefit to your symptoms or desired outcome. Sessions typically last 60 minutes in duration. During this time your therapist will focus on and provide effective massage at varying depths and pressure to meet your wellness goals. Expect to feel amazing!  After the visit, you will be recommended stretches and home care techniques by your therapist.
